Father Mark Arnzen

Biography
Father Mark was born the fourth of 9 children in Cottonwood Idaho in 1961. After graduating from Prairie High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge he spent time in Seattle, Washington before enrolling at Holy Names College in Oakland. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Art in Philosophy he spent two years teaching at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Academy in Thoreau NM. He returned to the Bay Area, before entering the St. Patrick Seminary in Menlo Park CA, he taught 6th grade here at St. Lawrence the Martyr Elementary and Middle School for six years.
Father Mark was ordained on June 4, 2005, for the Diocese of San Jose. He has served as parochial vicar at St. Martin of Tours and Holy Spirit parishes and as pastor of St. Catherine of Alexandria, St. Lucy and currently here at St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish.
Father Mark has a deep love and passion for Catholic education and seeks to greet the school families every day at morning drop off and afternoon pick up as well as visiting the classrooms on a regular basis. He believes strongly that every child in the parish should be able to attend Catholic school.
In his leisure time, Father Mark enjoys reading, walking about and following his favorite sports teams.
